July 28th, 2020 Ben and I were driving up the Oregon coast. Cam sent me the article that lit up the Portland Protests. Protesters were being detained and put in un-marked cars by Federal Officers. We diverted course, and Cam and I spent five days in Portland photographing the protests. Night one was chaos, but the following evenings simmered down. Fights broke out amongst the protesters in the absence of the Federal Officers. We attended a daytime rally and marched dozens of miles each day. Portland was…so many things. Incredible mainly.
